Yes, despite their size most Great Danes are good with children and other pets.
They are extremely docile and careful with their weight, so with even a little training, you shouldn't have any problems. Having a dog with a great temperament is a great thing for first-time owners and Great Danes certainly fit that criterion. A big yard is a plus but they are very good at playing a couch potato.
Great Danes are indeed smart dogs. They can learn new commands quickly and remember them for a long time. This makes them ideal companions for those people who want a dog that is easy to train.
Unfortunately no. We would love to but we simply have our hands full taking care of the ones we have. But we have zero doubts these babies would turn heads and bring home the prize.
They are extremely spoiled. Short answer, of course. They have an entire floor of the home, heated and cooled. Couches and memory foam beds ect.. They also love it outside where they have nearly 10 acres of safe freedom in fields and a pasture. But They can't get enough of cartoons.
At the moment we do not. Each of our Danes get extra special care and pampering. We would want and need to provide identical treatment to those we home. We also like to raise them together from birth to keep the training and temperament in tact.
Most of our Danes are full 100% European while one is 50% European.
